Additionally for each lesson, the teacher will complete the following list of tasks: Task 1: Send the welcome email (first lesson only). Task 2: Assign the content for the lesson (Open Course only). Task 3: Review the exercises of the lesson. Task 4: Review the results of the homework previously assigned. Task 5: Call the student. Task 6: Take notes during the lesson. Task 7: Assign homework based on the most prominent mistake. Task 8: Send the class notes. Task 9: Report attendance.

Application Our application form is very comprehensive. It includes data that would automatically disqualify a teacher such as, no previous experience, Internet speed or limited availability.
Applicant database The applications will appear on the Teacher Application Database. From there, we will select the teachers we are interested in working with. We don’t do a formal interview. Instead, we organize a test lesson with a volunteer student.
Test lesson A test lesson gives more information about the teacher than an interview. The teacher needs to use our system, contact the student on time, use the academic content from our database, and take notes during the lesson. The test lesson is recorded and the lesson report is saved.
Vote After the test lesson, an email is sent to every school administrator in the Zamenhof Network for a vote. The administrator will have access to the recording, the lesson plan, class notes and all the information that was collected during the application. The administrator can answer yes, no or maybe and provide more info about his/her decision.
Platform training If the teacher is accepted, we will send the enrollment email with all the necessary information to get started. The teacher will have to read the teacher panel instruction document and answer the quiz.
Contract The teacher will digitally sign the contract accessible from the teacher account.
Courses training application From the teacher settings, the teacher will apply to the courses he/she wants to teach. Some courses require extra qualifications that need to be provided (example, Medical English). Some courses require that the teacher complete a MOOC to be able to apply. The course application page is always available to the teacher, and the teacher can always apply to new courses.
Follow-up sessions After the first 5 lessons, we organize a lesson where the teacher is the student and our head teacher is leading the lesson. This session helps the new teacher to understand the student’s point of view, and it’s a good opportunity to ask questions that arose during the first lessons. After the first year, we organize a follow-up session with the head teacher. This session can be organized earlier if requested by the teacher.
Competitive salary The teacher’s salary depends on the package renewal rate. Whenever a student purchases a package of at least four lessons, the teacher will receive a higher salary per lesson. For example, when a student purchases a package of eight lessons with Teacher A from the General Topic courses database. Teacher A will receive $6 per lesson. If the same student goes on to purchase a second package of eight lessons with Teacher A, Teacher A will receive $6.50 per lesson.
Note that a package must consist of at least four lessons in order to count as a renewal.
Working conditions Because of our platform, our teachers can provide a better learning experience. We provide the academic content for the lessons, the homework, and the exam assessment.
Teachers are not sales reps and they don’t have to do free test lessons.
Flexibility It is very easy for the teachers to manage their schedules, and we have a very clear system for absenteeism that reduces the potential conflicts between the schools and the teachers.
Every lesson on mobile, landline, and Student Panel is recorded by default and available to the administrator. From your teacher stats page, you can see the following data:
Package renewal This data represents the total number of renewed packages for this teacher. As opposed to the "Renewed students," it includes every renewed package (even the ones with the same student).
Student renewal The student renewal rate will give you an idea of how the teacher is likely to keep a new student. The rate is calculated by dividing the total number of students who had a package of at least 4 lessons with this teacher by the number of students who purchased a second package with the same teacher.
Student satisfaction survey At the end of each package of lessons, a survey is sent to the student.

STUDENT RENEWAL RATE
Definition: This data will give you an idea of how the teacher is likely to keep a new student.
Limitations: If a teacher has a total of 10 students and only one of them renewed its package 1,000 times, the renewal rate will be only 10%. A low renewed student rate does not necessarily mean the teacher is bad. Some teachers will go along only with certain students (example: a young teacher might be popular among young students but is really unpopular with elder students). It is important to compare this statistic with the renewed package rate.
How is this data calculated? The renewed student rate is the total amount of students who (1) had a package of at least 4 lessons with this teacher and (2) purchased a second package. The renewed student rate is calculated by dividing the total number of students who had a second package of at least 4 lessons by the total number of students the teacher had, multiplied by 100.
PACKAGE RENEWAL RATE
Definition: This data represents the total amount of renewed packages for this teacher. As opposed to the "renewed students," it includes every renewed package (even the ones with the same student).
Limitations: If a teacher has a total of 10 students and only one of them renewed its package 50 times (a total of 60 packages, 50 renewals), the package renewal rate will be 83%. This data should be considered with the renewed student rate because a really high rate could be the result of a few regular students.
How is this data calculated? The renewed package is the total number of second (and following) packages of at least 4 lessons. The renewed package rate is calculated by dividing the total number of second (and following) packages by the total number of packages of at least 4 lessons multiplied by 100.
No. You only have to pay for the weekly work order.
It is not possible to organize interviews outside of our platform, but we strongly encourage school administrators to schedule lessons with the teachers assigned to their schools. This way, the administrator will experience the service as a "real" student from the student account, and get to know the teachers in our network.
We implemented five points to dissuade a teacher/student from attempting to bypass our network.
A high renewal rate will bring more students Every administrator is carefully reviewing the package and student’s renewal rate before assigning a student to a teacher. If the teacher is offering the student to continue outside the network, it will affect the renewal rate and decrease the potential of receiving new students.
Salary based on the renewal rate The salary is based on the renewal rate. Therefore, if a student renews several times, the salary per lesson becomes more interesting and the difference between the money earned without the network is far less significant.
Easier workflow through the network Without the network, many details can increase the work of the teacher. Of course, the teacher can’t use the student panel if the student is not part of the network. Neither can they access the content or the service of the administrators. The lesson postponing alone is a significant hassle that is taken care of by the student panel and/or the administrator.
No emails or personal contacts are shared The teachers don’t have access to the email of the students. All the correspondence between the student and the teacher is going through the messaging system. This correspondence is available to the administrator.
The lessons are recorded The teachers have the responsibility to record every lesson and post the audio streaming link to their account. That audio file is available to the teacher, the student, and the administrator.
Yes! Provide them with the teacher application link from your school administrator account. Once they complete the application, we will take care of the training and support. We will also make sure that they understand the functionalities of their teacher account before you assign their first student.
Up on agreement. It is possible to restrict their account only to your school or to make their account available to the rest of the network.

Around the world. We work mostly with native speakers, but many of them are not living in their country of origin.
We have many bilingual teachers. Some of them might speak the language you need. You can find these teachers by using the filter on the package registration page. However, we can’t guarantee a wide selection. We offer 2 solutions: 1. We can hire and train teachers from your school. 2. We search and recruit new teachers (it usually takes a couple of weeks).
